Panglao Joyride


It's summer! And we've had another chance to visit our hometown Bohol. Destination: Panglao Island. We've decided to barged in the beautiful beaches and resorts for the entire day. :)

First stop, Bohol Bee Farm

They sell variety of products: arts and crafts; beauty and skin care products like Honey Papaya Soap (₱60), herbal conditioner (₱395) and insect repellent spray (₱320); health and wellness products like guyabano and malunggay tea (₱360); delicacies like Honeyed Organic Tableya ( ₱460) and Organic Cassava Cereal (₱90); Pure Honey (₱90-2,400); baked products and spreads (₱190 and

 Serving delicious and organic food like flower salad, camote fries with latik, a whole lot of ice cream flavors like malunggay ice cream.

They also have services like spa, farm tour, dive shop and water sports. And swimming pools for in-house guests.

Next, Bohol Shores

It's a very pristine and relaxing place. They've just opened this last November 2015. You will find everything so neat and fresh. The place welcomes you to a wide pool with an island and bar in the center connected by the bridges. They also have villas which is just right in the pool's side.



 Villas and Rooms are valued at P10,000-P15,000 pesos. Day Tour is priced at 800 pesos for adults and 700 for children both with 500 pesos consumables. A great place for everyone to enjoy the sun.

Third on the list is, South Palms Resort

A place so sophisticated. You'll be amazed how wide the beach area is, graced with white sand and crystal clear water. Well, the pictures say it all.






You can dine here at Oceanica Seafood Restaurant. Serving fresh and exquisite dishes with a spectacular view of the ocean. They hold themed dinner every M-W-F and weekends for only ₱988-₱1198 per person.



Getting to Panglao

Panglao Island has become very famous in our country. It's one of the top destinations here in Bohol. Just 30 minutes to an hour ride from Tagbilaran City. You can rent a self-drive car or motorcyles to get around the island.

I haven't traveled alone in such a long time. I was always with my kids and our bags. Felt so different not having to think where our things went or how others were doing. CDO ala Jiffy

Cagayan de Oro is a first class city and capital of Misamis Oriental found in the northern part of Mindanao.  Just 30-45 min. plane ride from Cebu. It's famous for its whitewater rafting and river trekking. We didn't get to try it though because we have a limited time but our weekend was still worthwhile. What to do when in Cagayan: 1. Visit Macahambus Cave A historical cave found in Barangay Lumbia. Served as refuge and passageway to Kagay-anons during the Filipino-American War. The cave narrows at the center and the exit welcomes you to the beautiful view of the CDO river, where whitewater rafting happens. How to get here: We rode on a vhire bound for Talakag from Agora, paid 65 pesos and it took us 15-20 min to arrive. A jeepney can take you back to the city proper for 20 pesos. 2. The Gentle Giants in Oslob, Cebu: Whale Shark Watching

#Summeritis... Let’s take a timeout with sitting and staring at the computer. This April we decided to take a trip to the Cebu south. Our main goal was to visit the so called gentle giants in Oslob and to Sumilon Island. Here are some tips and reminders that may help you in your whale shark encounter. 1 . It is advised to be there as early as possible. The Oslob Whale Shark Watching is only open from 6 AM to 12 noon everyday. Since we were there on a Holy Week, it was very crowded. There’s a 10-minute orientation (do’s and don’ts) before we’re allowed to ride the boat and interact with the whale sharks. But tourists were already in the briefing area even before 6 am. If possible, weekdays is preferred over weekends since its less crowded. 2 . It’s better to stay for 1 night and schedule your whale watching early the next day.
