#Summeritis... Let’s take a timeout with sitting and staring at the computer. This April we decided to take a trip to the Cebu south. Our main goal was to visit the so called gentle giants in Oslob and to Sumilon Island. Here are some tips and reminders that may help you in your whale shark encounter. 1 . It is advised to be there as early as possible. The Oslob Whale Shark Watching is only open from 6 AM to 12 noon everyday. Since we were there on a Holy Week, it was very crowded. There’s a 10-minute orientation (do’s and don’ts) before we’re allowed to ride the boat and interact with the whale sharks. But tourists were already in the briefing area even before 6 am. If possible, weekdays is preferred over weekends since its less crowded. 2 . It’s better to stay for 1 night and schedule your whale watching early the next day. 'Twas a lazy Sunday morning.. We've decided to wake up late. Enjoying the comfort our beds. To soothe our tired muscles from yesterday's island hopping activity. I turned to my side and noticed my daughters comfortably snugged in (and my hubby snoring). All at once, I thought.. a mother's got to do her job. I managed to stretch, pulled myself up and went downstairs. Mama Angga is already awake. As always. Then I remembered, its Mother's Day today. We greeted each other. She head on the kitchen to continue cooking. I texted my mother in Calape and greeted her too. Then, decided to wash our wet suits and rashguards. After our late breakfast, we delight ourselves in the living room to examine the photos we got yesterday. We got a lot of nice pictures and laughed at some too. We woke up early at 5:30 and had to get ready at once because its a 4-hour ride to Candijay. We've already prepared our bag and clothes last night so we only need to prepare our baon and utensils. We'll only bring paper plates, plastic cups and spoons as agreed, because its gonna be a long walk down the falls or  swimming area.  The road trip started as 7am. We passed these towns from Calape in this order: Tubigon, Clarin, Sagbayan, Carmen, Sierra Bullones, Pilar, Alicia then to Candijay. Asking for directions whenever there's an intersection. Turning at the corner of Brgy. Lungsod Daan, we trailed the  8 km. long. (approx.)  rough road. Arriving at almost 11 am. Yup..w e traveled that long. Kuya's car is a Dmax and there were 11 of us, so we all had to fit ourselves, (kids in our lap) in the 2nd row, because nobody wants to be out in the back where its so hot and dusty. :) So you can just imagine how eager we are to get there.
