CDO ala Jiffy

Cagayan de Oro is a first class city and capital of Misamis Oriental found in the northern part of Mindanao.  Just 30-45 min. plane ride from Cebu. It's famous for its whitewater rafting and river trekking. We didn't get to try it though because we have a limited time but our weekend was still worthwhile. What to do when in Cagayan: 1. Visit Macahambus Cave A historical cave found in Barangay Lumbia. Served as refuge and passageway to Kagay-anons during the Filipino-American War. The cave narrows at the center and the exit welcomes you to the beautiful view of the CDO river, where whitewater rafting happens. How to get here: We rode on a vhire bound for Talakag from Agora, paid 65 pesos and it took us 15-20 min to arrive. A jeepney can take you back to the city proper for 20 pesos. 2. Take a stroll at Gaston Park Gaston Park is located in the heart of the city beside St. Augustine Cathedral. It's one of the landmarks and probably the most famous ...

'Twas a lazy Sunday morning.. We've decided to wake up late. Enjoying the comfort our beds. To soothe our tired muscles from yesterday's island hopping activity. I turned to my side and noticed my daughters comfortably snugged in (and my hubby snoring). All at once, I thought.. a mother's got to do her job. After our late breakfast, we delight ourselves in the living room to examine the photos we got yesterday. We got a lot of nice pictures and laughed at some too. I remembered my sister complaining about her very short underwater video. Like 1 second short. :) Its not everyday we converse and dine together (because we live in Cebu). She then suggested, ...

We woke up early at 5:30 and had to get ready at once because its a 4-hour ride to Candijay. We've already prepared our bag and clothes last night so we only need to prepare our baon and utensils. We'll only bring paper plates, plastic cups and spoons as agreed, because its gonna be a long walk down the falls or  swimming area.  The road trip started as 7am. We passed these towns from Calape in this order: Tubigon, Clarin, Sagbayan, Carmen, Sierra Bullones, Pilar, Alicia then to Candijay. Asking for directions whenever there's an intersection. Turning at the corner of Brgy. Lungsod Daan, we trailed the  8 km. long. (approx.)  rough road. Arriving at almost 11 am. Yup..w e traveled that long. Kuya's car is a Dmax and there were 11 of us, so we all had to fit ourselves, (kids in our lap) in the 2nd row, because nobody wants to be out in the back where its so hot and dusty. :) So you can just imagine how eager we are to get there. The view of Can-Umantad Falls f...
