The Way to Can-Umantad Falls

We woke up early at 5:30 and had to get ready at once because its a 4-hour ride to Candijay. We've already prepared our bag and clothes last night so we only need to prepare our baon and utensils. We'll only bring paper plates, plastic cups and spoons as agreed, because its gonna be a long walk down the falls or  swimming area.

The road trip started as 7am. We passed these towns from Calape in this order: Tubigon, Clarin, Sagbayan, Carmen, Sierra Bullones, Pilar, Alicia then to Candijay. Asking for directions whenever there's an intersection. Turning at the corner of Brgy. Lungsod Daan, we trailed the 8 km. long. (approx.) rough road. Arriving at almost 11 am. Yup..we traveled that long. Kuya's car is a Dmax and there were 11 of us, so we all had to fit ourselves, (kids in our lap) in the 2nd row, because nobody wants to be out in the back where its so hot and dusty. :) So you can just imagine how eager we are to get there.

The view of Can-Umantad Falls from where we can park. We have to walk down there.

Called my nephew for a pose but he's so busy with his slippers :)

Pit stop. Still smiling even if they're all sweat.

Yohoo! We've arrived! :D

It was a long way down and rather steep and rocky too, but we hardly noticed it because we're so excited to see the falls. We also passed two wooden bridges. There's another way to reach the falls but they said its longer and more difficult. Like 400 steps/stairs.

Cottages were built near the area.

At 60-feet high, it is said to be the tallest waterfall in Bohol.

After eating, plunged right away. Enjoying the cold, clear and shallow water. There's a mini cave behind the falls which we took turn in going in and out, delighted with the back massage the waterfall offered.

The kids murmured when it was time to leave because they're all having such a great time. We packed everything up including our trash and head up. It was so difficult going back up the mountain because its against the gravity. It took us longer than it should to have. We also consumed the rest of our drinking water along the way.

Going home, we followed a different route: from Candijay to Alicia, Ubay, Trinidad, Talibon, Jetafe, Buenavista, Inabanga, Clarin, Tubigon then home to Calape. We stopped at Cadapdapan Rice Terraces to take pictures and admire the view. Also at Ubay Milk Store to buy some healthy snacks and refreshments like fresh milk, chocobao, piaya, yema and rosquillos which all tasted very good.
