Breathtakingly Beautiful Bohol

As a Boholano myself, I am captivated by its distinctive beauty. A small but wonderful island found in the center of the Philippines. Having a land area of 4, 821 sq. km. and a coastline of 261 km., making it the 10th largest island in the country (Wiki). Currently, Bohol has become one of the most visited places because its rich in culture, history and innumerable natural wonders, like the magnificent chocolate hills, the beaches, springs, falls, rivers and caves. Some of which are still waiting to be discovered.

How to get there:
By Air: Travel by plane from Manila to Tagbilaran City (1 hour)
By Sea: a.) From Cebu Sea Port 1 to Tagbilaran City - 2-hour ride via fast craft or 4 hours via regular ferry
b.) From Cebu Sea Port Pier 3 to Tubigon, Bohol - 1 hour via fast craft from 200-280 pesos (recommended because its  faster and cheaper)

Destinations:
Chocolate Hills

Be captivated by these perfectly shaped chocolate colored hills. Truly one of Bohol's best attractions. There are like thousands of them mostly found in Carmen and in Sagbayan Peak.

This one is in Carmen, with an entrance of 50 pesos, you can now enjoy God's work of art.

They've constructed stairs in one of the tallest hills for us to have a better view. A long way to the top but it's worth every step, and a good way to exercise too.:)

There's also a place near here called CHAP (Chocolate Hills Adventure Park) which offers lots of physical and fun activities like sky cycling and treetop rope challenges. You may visit their site or read from this blog.
Loboc River Cruise and Floating Restaurant

Loboc is about 30 min. ride from the city of Tagbilaran. We went here last year and had to cross the bridge to get there because the entrance was ruined during the earthquake. A ride on the cruise boat costs 600 pesos/person including a sumptuous buffet meal and a serenade from one their crews.

The meal was delicious. You'll really appreciate the scenery as the boat goes upstream. The river is greener and more peaceful. You can hear the birds sing on the trees and other plants lining on the river's side.

The river cruise ends in a mini waterfall called Busay. They've placed some rafts here where locals play guitars and ukuleles, while other folks danced the Tinikling (Bamboo dance). Some tourists even danced with them as the beat gets livelier.

Man-made Forest (Bilar)

We just passed here, a little pit stop to enjoy the view and to take some photos. It's so cool here (even if it's sunny) because the trees were so densely planted on each side of the road, giving every passersby enough shade. Such a pretty sight, and the scent of fresh forest air is very welcoming.

Panglao White Sand Beaches

Another reason why people love to visit Bohol is because of its pristine white sand beaches. The famous ones are in Panglao Island. Here you can find a lot of world class beaches and dive resorts. It has smaller islands called Balicasag and Pamilacan, famous for SCUBA diving and dolphin watching.
You can also find here a cave called Hinagdanan Cave which is located in Brgy. Bingag, Dauis, Panglao. The cave has a deep lagoon with large stalactites and stalagmites. Comes with a dramatic lighting because of the sunlight that goes through the holes of its ceiling. With an entrance fee of 25 and 100 pesos for swimming.

These are just some of the places you can visit here in Bohol. You might also like to visit Badiang Spring in Valencia , Logarita Spring in Bilar, Kawasan Falls in Balilihan, Mag-Aso Falls in Antequera, The Tarsier Sanctuary in Corella, The Blood Compact Monument in Bool, Tagbilaran and a whole lot more.

You might also like to visit The ShipHaus in Batuan for only 20 pesos.

Make the best of your summer by visiting these beautiful places here in Bohol.
